What is the Importance of Sleep Pattern for Body Health?

Sleep slows down and relaxes body systems, making us feel physically stronger when we wake up. While quality and regular sleep adds vitality to you, it starts the day with energy and increases your productivity, and contributes to your social and health.

Studies show that those who are sleep deprived have a slower metabolism, and because they do not sleep, their consumption of fatty foods with high energy content increases, thus their weight gain is high. In addition, the heavy consumption of chocolate, coffee and tea after dinner can increase your caffeine intake and cause you to be sleepless. Again, high intake of fatty foods and heavy alcohol consumption also reduce your sleep efficiency.

In other words, nutrition can affect sleep, and sleep can affect your diet. For this reason, you can prepare the ground for a more balanced sleep by consuming milk or yogurt with high tryptophan content and a fruit snack 2 hours before going to bed at the latest.

Studies have shown that those who sleep less than 5 hours a day have more visceral fat and hypertension. In another study, it is seen that the risk of insulin resistance and diabetes increases in addition to obesity in those who have chronic insomnia.

Insomnia also causes emotional problems, such as feeling unhappy and depressed.

In addition to how many hours of sleep you have, its quality and regularity is also very important. Sleeping at the same time every night signals your body that it's time to sleep. Waking up at the same time every day also helps you wake up comfortably. Do not delay bedtime for more than half an hour or get up after 2-3 hours.
